Happy Birthday to me! Wow - I'm finally 14. Oh how exciting today will be - going into the city for a lunch and seeing Harry Potter 5 in IMAX with 3D! I just came back from camp on Monday. It was amazing, being there for a month. I'm happy to be back with my family again. Other news? I got my first very own computer: A new MacBook! I've been glued to it for a while..... other presents? I got the Legally Blonde: The Musical soundtrack, a pink and green beaded necklace from Paris from my aunt, a charm for my Juicy Couture charm bracelet (it's shaped as a pink coffee mug), a Broadway Diva concert DVD, and an engraved silver bangle my mom bought me in Texas.

I'll get back in the flow of writing on my blog often, but first I have to devour all my fall fashion magazines and sites for trends and get back into the routine of reading my daily fashion fixes online.

7/6/07: I'm Leaving on A Jet Plane

Tomorrow at exactly 7:00 a.m. I will be jetting off to Colorado attend church camp in the Rockies. I'm very excited for the adventures to come - hiking up 14000 ft. mountains in the Collegiate Range, repeling down 300 ft. cliffs, white water rafting, biking, and horseback riding, but I am also sad. I'll miss quite a few things. Blogging and the internet, for instance, my dog, my family, a cozy, comfortable bed, normal food (camp food is absolutely disgusting), and Starbucks, of course.

I'll be back on August 6th, and hopefully Teen Fashion Bible will be up and running again by the 7th or 8th. Later, alligators!

To me, Amelia Earheart is a fashion inspiration. I love old pictures of her in leather bomber jackets, aviator goggles or glasses, and fun head pieces and scarves. In many places in the United States (usually wealthy areas), Old Navy is considered "tacky and cheap." I tend to disagree. In the past few years, Old Navy has vamped up their style with fabulous dresses, flashy shoes, to-die-for accessories, trendy jean styles, and lots of cute screen tees. I remember going into Old Navy just to find a lot of shirts that read in small letters "Old Navy." Now, whenever my mom and I take a trip to our local outdoor mall, we stop there religiously, just like we do Target. I love the price range - fits my budget, and you can get a lot of use out of the things you buy. Here are my top picks for this summer at Old Navy:

I love the flirty floral pattern of this linen babydoll dress. You can dress it up or down, and either way it looks fabulous. $29.50

With peep-toe being so popular this year, Old Navy does a great job with these little wedges. The braiding and the pattern make this shoe stand out. $12.99

I absolutely adore this vintage-inspired cream cami with quirky buttons and just the right amount of ruffles. This light, airy piece can be considered a staple in any teen fashionista's wardrobe. $19.50

7/1/07: 7 Things to Know About Me

Here are my seven facts: (and thanks to Lauren from La Petite Fashionista for tagging me!)

#1: I am a musical theater fanatic!

My life has been basically all theater since I was 5 years old. Singing, acting, and dancing are my passions, and I'd hope to pursue a career on Broadway in the future. I've been in 23 musicals since the age of 5, my most recent role being the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. I've been taking tap and jazz dance for about 7 years, and ballet for about 4. My favorite Broadway show is most definetely Wicked, which I saw in San Francisco in 2005.

#2: I am completely addicted to the Georgia Nicholson series!

Ever heard of these books? They are just fabity fab fab. Perfect for vacation, I read the first four in the past 10 days when I was in Hawaii. I love fictional British girl Georgia Nicholson's bubbly personality and witty British slang. These are books you won't want to miss out on if you want to have a good laugh. (the picture above is of the eighth book, hitting stores on July 3, 2007)

#3: My favorite food in the whole wide world is Thai food!

I believe my family and I have visited at least 25 Thai restaurants across the nation by now. We are Thai food connoisseurs! My favorite dish would have to be chicken satay. Dipping the tender chicken skewers into the luscious, rich peanut sauce is an incomparable taste experience.

#4: My best friend is my miniature goldendoodle, Maizie.

Above is a picture of my baby, Maizie, at five months old. She is a miniature goldendoodle - part miniature poodle, part golden retriever. She is loving, playful, sweet, obedient, and very smart. She is now over a year old and weighs only 40 pounds.

#5: My favorite pair of jeans are Sevens.

No matter how overrated they are in the fashion world, I love my Seven for All Mankind bootcut jeans. They fit me perfectly - usually I hate wearing jeans because they're stiff and uncomfortable, but these are as soft as my dad's old sweat pants. They were one of the best Christmas presents I have gotten because I've gotten a lot of use out of them.

#6: Mascara does it for me.

Most girls step into a Sephora and immediately grab all the cutest glosses, eye shadows, foundations, and eyeliner possible. Me? I stick with plain old, boring black mascara. I'm not that big with makeup. Maybe a bit of concealer for those nasty zits, but otherwise, I hate putting on any kind of blush, eyeliner, eyeshadow, lipstick..... I'm quite a girly girl, just not in the makeup department.

#7: Every year I go to summer camp in Colorado!

Sorry to say, but Friday the 6th of July is my last day of blogging until mid August. I've been going to a church camp up in the Rockies for 4 years now, so I'll be there for a month this summer. I'll be having a blast peaking two 14000 ft. mountains in the collegiate range, white water rafting on the Arkansas River, riding horses, going on bicycle day trips, and goofing off with my friends. No internet access, phone calls, tv, movies..... I'll be missing Harry Potter and Hairspray - tear, tear. Hopefully my mother will be kind enough to ship me HP #7 in my care package!

Sorry to say that I, Lauren, will be gone for the next 10 days, tanning, eating, relaxing, snorkeling, and shopping in the most beautiful state in the USA - Hawaii!

I'm so happy! There's a brand new header (if you haven't already noticed)! With the help of my 11 year old brother (thank you Andy!) I created it this morning after gathering up a few of my favorite fashion pictures. It'll add a splash of color to the page, don't you think?

No, I'm not changing the name of my blog, but I'm working on a new header. To technology-savvy computer gaming geeks, this won't be any new news to you. For me? I'm super excited! The Sims 2 has created a new game pack: The Sims2: H and M Fashion Stuff! When I read about this new game, I flipped. I used to be a Sims2 addict - I'd spend hours at a time glued to my computer screen, raising my sim children, watching the old grow weak and die. Now I'm ready to dig up my old Sims disks and buy this new pack. The Sims2: H and M Fashion Stuff is an all new pack that allows you to design your own H and M stores for your sims, where they can purchase clothes that are inspired by H and M styles. You can have a runway show - have your sims debut in the new fashions on the catwalk. I'm very pleased - partly because H and M is one of my favorite stores, but also because most of the sim's fashions that come with the program I find drab and unnatractive. Now my sims can walk in style and have a bit of pizazz in their wardrobe. Fashion lovers of any age will fall for this delightful pack, now available.

When I step into my local Target, a feeling of joy and giddiness overwhelms me. I love the smell of it - there is a distinctive smell. Maybe it is the Pizza Hut next to the Junior's area. Maybe it's the smell of new plastic and new clothes. I automatically head towards the Junior's section, making my way past the hoards of string bikinis and terry cloth rompers until I reach the most sacred section - the GO International section. Located strategically front and center in the Junior's section, I skip towards the first rack of clothes, looking at each and every design carefully. I am amused with all the bohemian-beach style tanks, shorts, and dresses. I go through each hanger, trying to spot my size. Most of it has been picked through - I'm about 3 weeks late. But I can still find everything I need midst the excess amount of XXLs and XSs.
I zoom in on the rack of gorgeous grecian style dresses. In olive greens, rust oranges, and browns, I spot an automatic YES. An olive green drop waist knit dress catches my eye. Is this true love? I grab the lone size medium and plop it into my cart. Moving on to the next rack, I see lots of tunics and tanks, all with a very loose feel. I instantly take a dark magenta colored tunic and place it in my cart. No - I see the same style in a beautiful burnt orange. I replace the magenta with the other one, and head on my way towards the bikinis.
Never have I loved a GO International collection more than Patrick Robinson's. The styles are truly "me" and I love his usage of all different types of colors, styles, and fabrics. Everything from his collection fit well, except for the burnt orange tunic, which had unusually large armpit holes, making it very revealing. I'm excited for Patrick's debut as the new design head for The Gap, for I think I have found my newest obsession.
I ended up buying the drop waist jersey dress in green, and currently am wearing it right now. It is now my favorite item in my closet, and looks perfect along with my brown leather gladiators, bohemian-like paisley head scarf, and gold key pendant (also from yesterday's Target splurge.)
If you haven't checked out the new collection, I advise you head off to your local Target as soon as possible. You won't want to miss out.

The highly anticipated season finale of America's Next Top Model season finale left me in a huff. The entire season, I've been a Natasha fan. I love her bubbly personality, outstanding beauty, and her ability to take critiques that the judges gave her and fix them. Many of my friends agreed that she would be the best choice for a winner out of the lot. Well, as most of you know, Jaslene was proclaimed the winner last night. Though she may have had some beautiful photos, I don't think she stood out to me during the competition. I decided to have a look at the photos both Jaslene and Natasha took during the 12 week competition, and find the best and the worst of the bunch.
This was clearly Natasha's worst shoot of the season. Assigned the become the "teacher's pet," Natasha wasn't all quite sure what a teacher's pet was. Sexy? Sultry? Didn't think so.

I love this photo of Natasha, taken for a men's magazine during an episode. Though it may be a little racy, her face is extraordinary - one of the fiercest pictures of Natasha I've ever seen. One thing I love about this girl is that she draws you in to her photos with her sultry expressions. She always impressed me. Always. Just one question: What was her husband thinking when he saw this photo of his beloved wife?Jaslene failed to impress me with this photoshoot. Her face has utterly no expression whatsoever, and with the lighting, she just ends up in the background, blending in. I can see her struggle to try to burst out of the picture and stand out, but unfortunately it didn't work. She looks like she's trying to fly, but doesn't have enough will-power and strength.
Jaslene acceded way beyond expectations at her second photo shoot - this is amazing. She truly shows how you don't have to look glamorous as a model. Just looking at her photo makes me feel scared of such a weirdo. By far this was Jaslene's best shoot - she was able to be fierce without looking like a drag queen. She also looks lonely - I love the multiple emotions she portrays with this photo.

On another note - how did you all like the Sass and Bide runway show? I thought both girls did a great job, even though the judges seemed to disagree. Natasha made me proud - even though her skirt fell off, she made it look like it was supposed to. Her confidence and ability to keep her cool really impressed me.

Have you ever seen a trend and thought - I would've loved that when I was younger? While searching through pages and pages of screen tees this morning, I came across at least ten shirts with everyone's favorite cat, Hello Kitty, plastered across the front. When I came across the first shirt, I thought, "Oh, cute. I'll probably buy one of those. Would look good with a romper and flats." But the more and more of these HK shirts that I saw, the less the appeal. If I was 11 and looking for some cute screen tees that weren't from Limited Too or Macy's kids, I would've immediately gone to all of them, picked them up, and thrown them onto the store counter, proclaiming them mine.
The Hello Kitty craze has really caught on. Baby Phat designer Kimora Lee Simmons is now designing Hello Kitty swarovski crystal jewelry at Neiman Marcus. The prices range from $500 - $2500 a piece. Uh, no comment. The question is, Can styles you'd have gone crazy over in K-5 make a comeback?This Hello Kitty doodle design could work in an eclectic ensemble, with a romper, fedora or beret, and dainty flats. - Forever 21, $14.80

4/17/07: Graduation Time, Come On!

June 15, 2007 - the last day of middle school. Just thinking about it makes chills run up and down my spine - high school, here I come. Well, there has been a lot of talk about graduation dresses. Krystal says, "I'm wearing one for the ceremony, one for the party." Hayley says, "You HAVE to wear black to the party - the theme is red carpet!" I say, "I need to be an individual... I'm not going to follow the crowd and find a beauty pageant-esque Macy's junior department dress. I'm going for a more - grecian approach. On an attempt to find my mum a tablecloth for her dinner party on Saturday, we ended up at Bloomingdales - yet the linens were in the most obscure, ugly colors and prints. I dragged her up to floor 4, my favorite - and we scouted throughout all the racks of Free People, Juicy Couture, Splendid, and BCBG until we found this perfect beauty. It was totally me - and fit well, too! I'll pair it with some gladiators, or cute brown flats - to make it totally unique - and totally my own. The price was, eh.... pretty high, but the dress is now my "8th grade graduation present." I have many ideas of ways I can dress it up for parties, and dress it down for school or shopping. No doubt about it - I'll walk down to receive my graduation certificate in style looking chic.

4/12/07: Fashion Hits the Bullseye!

Spring has sprung, and summer is on its way. One problem - my old shorts are too small, my shirts seem too 7th grade, and my flip flops and flats are worn and dirty. My resolution to this fashion funk? I logged on to Target.com, and immediately clicked to the junior's section, where I found tons of great spring and summer pieces that will work with my wardrobe. Dresses, shirts, flats, and accessories - I've got it covered. The best part? They're all inexpensive, leaving me with extra bucks for something splurge-worthy.

4/5/07: Feeling Groovy

I need to take a Union Square run down to one of the many H and Ms in San Fran to hunt down this beauty. It reminds me of the clothes my mother would've worn in the 70s as a teenager. Perfect for a cool, breezy spring day at the beach or in Starbucks, huddled in the squishy booth in the corner, sipping a mocha frappucino. Oh, I need to get into the city and raid H and M of all the cutest, hippie threads I can find.

I'm also gushing over these Free People sandals. Would work perfect with a burnt orange hippie dress and big leather belt. I'm reminiscing my third grade trip to the Miwok village, where we spent the day frolicking among the tall grasses, learning about the Native American culture. These are the perfect mix between California hippie cool and Native American clothing. With all the bright colors, they'll fit perfectly with my jewelry and array of multi-colored belts.

The horrendous pouch my mother wore on her butt in the 90s has returned - as high fashion? Gucci sells fanny packs - this is stooping too low. The fanny pack is unnatractive, highly unfashionable, and is a disgrace to the fashion world. This is one 90s trend that shouldn't repeat itself.

All my life, I've hated the color yellow with a passion. It looks like puke on me, and I only admire it when people with dark skin wear it, because it brings out their lovely skin tone. I've always thought it was bland and putrid, yet now, my opinion has changed. Strangely, all the yellow accessories and apparel this season has made me want to go out and buy an entire yellow wardrobe! I'm especially fond of these picks for the spring.

With all the "futuristic" fashion spreads in magazines this season, I have been trying to find out how I can incorporate the look of the future into my personal style. To get to the point - I'm clueless. I don't think it's gonna work that well, with my floral dresses, printed blazers and hoodies, bootcut jeans, and spring-y little flats. The style is simply "not me." I am weary of adding anything metallic silver into my wardrobe - especially these American Apparel tights. I know no one who would be able to pull them off. I think I'm going to leave the futuristic fashions to astronauts and the future generations to come.

I was pleased to see yet another curvy cover model on Vogue's April 2007 issue. Scarlett Johannson (along with Jennifer Hudson from the March issue) is a great inspiration and not to mention an outstanding actress! She is someone to look up to - she has gone very far with her acting career. Now, Scarlett has gotten a contract with Reebok athletic apparel to design sporty women's sneakers for her new line, "Scarlett Heart's Rbk." This line will be debuting this spring. I'm excited, for my old running sneakers look and smell like crap. Time for some spanking new sneaks! Let's only hope that Scarlett doesn't decide to branch out into makeup, clothing design, and an entire entertainment company like the Olsen twins....

If I could have all the accessories in the world, but only one item of clothing, I'd have to say the plain, classic tee would be my pick. Soft as your dad's old sweats, and as versatile as the little black dress, it can be dressed up or down - and your style will look effortless. I've read that American Apparel tees are especially soft and comfortable, and they come in a rainbow of colors and styles. From looking at the pictures, my favorite classic shirt would have to be AA's Unisex Poly-Cotton Short Sleeved Crew Neck. (what a mouthful!) At only sixteen dollars a piece, I could easily afford to buy three or four without going over my limit. And when you can get one in any size, any color, you can convert it - from a hip and funky t-shirt dress belted at the hips, to a sporty, tight fitting top. All you need is the accessories to make it happen. Now that is one great deal.

I would like to apologize to anyone I offended when I posted back in November that lovely rant about Abercrombie and Fitch. I recently got a comment from a fellow blogger saying that my post on "aberzombies" was cruel and untrue. I didn't intend on making anyone upset when I said, and I quote this from my post, "You know what bugs me? Those girls who are clad head to toe in Abercrombie this, Hollister that. Where is their sense of individuality? I know that Abercrombie clothes might be comfortable, but they are pretty cheaply made, and very very plain." This was only my opinion, and you can agree or disagree. I just wanted to get that out there.....

On a happier note, this is the first day of spring! Every girl should be jumping for joy in a pair of her favorite flats - here are a few of my picks for spring.

For the occasional 20 minutes per day, Style.com becomes my obsession - I click through the runway slideshows, ranting and raving on the newest collections from designers such as Marc by Marc and Luella. Today, I stopped by the Betsey Johnson slideshow for the 1000th time, and then again admired the beautifully eclectic outfits Betsey designs.
Another reason why I ah-dore Betsey is because of her new line of totes and luggage, "Betseyville." Not that expensive ($78 for a large tote)and very vintage girly, the new bags have a certain appeal to them. Some of the colors aren't that great (like the whole black and white bold stripes with purple roses stuff) but many of the totes are cool for school or shopping. I just wonder how much use I'll get out of one of her Betseyville bags - most of the clothes in my closet don't match that well....

It's not really "a new Argentina," but rather "a new Teen Fashion Bible." That's right - I'm gonna work on a cool header and probably change the name of my blog. Teen Fashion Bible is a bit juvenile - I'm thinking of "Haute," "Regally Blonde," or "Fashion Boot Camp" or something a bit more bold. If you have any suggestions, by all means give me a comment! I gladly appreciate all ideas.
With the new header/layout, I'll be posting a bit more on runway news, designer must haves, and more pictures I've taken in addition to the bubbly, girly write-ups and pics I've been posting. And don't you worry - I'll still be posting a fashion quote before every post! I fear I'll eventually run out one day and will have to resort to song lyrics.....
If I decide to stick with "Teen Fashion Bible," I'll be creating a new blog on haute couture, high school style, or Broadway and musical theater. Look out, TFB readers, there's a lot more to come from this eager and excited thirteen year old!

I've always admired the girl who stood out in a crowd (while looking fashionable) and I definetely agree that Iekeline Stange is that girl. I've been spending hours at a time online searching for the latest screen tees, legwarmers, hair scrunchies (they are actually coming back!) and suspenders..... kind of strange, but I like them. I wasn't pleased with my local target's selection of Proenza Schouler pieces for the Go International line. I hope that the next designer flying into the mega-stores, Patrick Robinson, will have a bigger selection at my local Target. The Target Corporation announced that designer Patrick Robinson will be showing off his styles after Proenza Schouler takes a bow. I am excited for this designer, because his traditional, Abercrombie-esque designs are completed with a tropical twist. I am already in love with the neutral colors - brown and beiges and whites. Robinson also incorporates light and navy blues to make his clothes cool and soothing. The most exciting thing? There are matching bikinis to go with his beachy preppy collection! Oh - I must stock up before I go to Hawaii in June! Are you as excited as me?

I would be blogging non stop if it weren't for the highly addicting Nancy Drew CD-ROM series. I ordered three of the mystery games from Amazon, and after playing "The Secret of the Scarlet Hand" for hours on end, I finally finished the case this morning! My computer is currently downloading "The Curse of Blackmoor Manor" which has been recommended by all the reviews I've read. In the games, you play Nancy Drew, and no matter where you go, there is always a mind-boggling mystery to solve!

One of my favorites so far was the fashion design-inspired "Danger by Design," in which Nancy goes to intern fabulous Parisian plus-size fashion designer Minette, who will not take off this scary phantom of the opera-esque mask. There is someone sending mysterious threats to the studio, and this is making Minette go crazy! Set in the beautiful city of Paris, Nancy gets to swim in the catacombs, bargain with market-sellers, and bake cookies with Minette's beautiful size 12 model, Jing-Jing Ling while solving a creepy mystery. I can tell you this - the fun never ends with these games.

So, playing the Nancy Drew games has inspired me to post about these ah-dorable fedoras from Gap. Do some sleuthing on your own with this menswear inspired cap - pair with a cropped double breasted trench and skinnies - and you're ready to be the next Sherlock Holmes!

We all want something, correct? Whether it be a MacBook, a million dollars, a boyfriend, a new wardrobe, perhaps? Well, Veruca Salt got EVERYTHING she wanted - which is totally not fair. Oh well - I guess I'll have to live without a laptop until I'm 14, but I probably will be able to snag a few trendy pieces for spring with a low budget. These, ladies and gentleman, are Lauren_the_it_girl's top ten styles for spring 2007:
1. shift dresses. check out Juicy Couture's psychadelic shift that graces the pages of the March Teen Vogue. Can you say A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E?
2. the boyfriend pant. Gap has got some new khakis that I'm ready to snag off the racks. In four different colors (white, black, caramel, and stone) these would be the perfect edition to my closet.
3. nautical flare. anchor necklaces, red, white and blue totes, and sea-worthy pants and shoes, this all-American tradition are sailing back into picture.
4. rompers are starting to pop up in stores like Top Shop, Forever 21, etc. I'm not quite sure about this trend, yet I'm sure I'll eventually see someone wearing one on the streets.
5. skinnies. i know - Vogue's January issue proclaimed skinny jeans are okay for spring. I think I'm going to invest in a pair of cropped skinnies from Seven For All Mankind that I saw at Marshalls the other day....
6. cropped trench coat. perfect for sunday school. The look is very city-girl chic. Note to self: don't buy one in mint green or baby pink, you may look like a nurse. :P
7. eyelet. In the Victoria's Secret clothing catalogue, I spotted the most amazing green eyelet halter. it is ah-dorable!!! this is such a fresh, spring-has-sprung kind of look.
8. patent. though most patent accessories remind me of the 80's - overly shiny stuff, I think that this trend could revive itself again. I've already spotted big red patent purses being carried around. I like the idea of patent wide belts as well. :)
9. Futuristic. The big fashion spread in the March Teen Vogue on silver, shiny, futuristic apparel really made me think: is this what style will be like in 50 years? I hope not, or I'll be a 63 year old granny wearing metallic jumpsuits and weird space goggles. My grandchildren will be embarrassed....
10. Personal Flair. Whether it be bows in your hair, a cardigan obsession, or green and pink striped shoelaces, I think everyone should have something that is their own style and something they adore - no matter if it is in or out.

I Go To School With Fruit Loops On My Chest....

As Heidi Klum says on the television phenomenon Project Runway, "You're either in, or you're out." Well, does that apply to the comfy, cozy screen tee? Known as both a fashion do and a fashion don't, the basic tee has been modified thousands of times to advertise food brands, tv shows, movies, and music stars. My question is, "Are they cool for school?" or should you stick with a bold pattern instead of the advertisement-on-the-boobs look? Not all screen tees look like this, though. Juniors stores such as Delia*s often have the cute, cozy cotton shirt with a cute pun on it, or funny drawings of fruits with faces on the chest. What annoys me are the Bobby Jack monkey shirts, with lame scribble and a cartoon monkey wearing grills or blowing a piece of bubblegum plastered on the front. There is no class at all in a shirt like that, yet are the fake "vintage" brands such as Junk Food able to be pulled off when paired with the right accessories? February showers bring March flowers.... and Target brings wellies back in style! Shopping at Target for shoes is not my cup of tea - the local mega-store I go to has a terrible shoe section. Luckily, Target.com has all the cute styles that aren't available at home. So, while browsing the shoe section I found these gorg pairs of rainboots (or as the English say, "wellies") that are a both a deal and a steal. My personal favourites? The citrus, floral, and magic carpet patterns!

Teeny bopper Miley Cyrus is not only a singer, actress, and fictional popstar - she's a fashionista for the pre-teen crowd. Clad in apparel that pre-teens love (and moms allow), Miss Cyrus is a good fashion role model for younger girls. Back in the mid-90's, when pop sensations Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera ruled, their tiny baby tees and microminis weren't exactly the kind of clothes that would be appropriate for the young crowd that worshiped their music. Miley stars as the title role of Hannah Montana/Miley Stewart on the hit Disney Channel show, "Hannah Montana." On the show, she wears cutesy middle school garb: brightly colored sweats and knit shrugs with pink skirts twisted with messy rock n' roll hair or straightened chic hair. Though her clothes on the show might not appeal to the teenage or early twenties crowd, they are what young girls dream of wearing. But off the set, Miss Cyrus is rockin' and rollin' her 5'4 figure with two inch knee high leather boots and glamorous glitter from top to bottom. On the red carpet, Destiny Hope Cyrus (her birth-name) can be sophisticated and chic, rock n' roll stylish, or Tennessee cowgirl hip. There are plenty of fansites that are dedicated to Miss Miley, so google Miley Cyrus and you are sure to find lots of information about this rising starlet. Teenybopper magazines such as Teen, J-14, Popstar, M, and Tiger Beat report that Miley shops everywhere from H&M to Intuition. She has worn Primp thermals, puffy jackets, Louis Vuitton handbags, you name it. No doubt about it, Miley Cyrus has style - on set and off.

I've noticed a trend in the spring 2007 collections: bright blue. Not just bright blue: Electric blue, bright royal blue. I was once at a small boutique, Red Stella, while vacationing in Gualala, California. That day I wore a bright royal blue sweater with big wood buttons that I had bought at H&M. The women who owned the store told me that the color of my sweater would be a huge hit in spring of 2006. Well, they were a year off. Celebrities are vitamins for fashion, too. Without them, clothing items and styles would not become as popular. One line of clothing that many celebrities appear to be wearing is Primp, a cozy line of thermals, tees, and lounge pants. Though these thermals may be $65 to $80, they are the most popular search term on the Intuition website. (www.shopintuition.com) The clothes, with animal and nautical prints such as ponies, anchors, frogs, and bunnies, have come out with a few more styles. Bows, Breast Cancer ribbons, and lions. Many of their thermals have rhinestones on them, to make them more glamorous. Celebs such as Mischa Barton, Nicole Richie, and Paris Hilton have been spotted by the paparazzi sporting this clothing line. Mischa has been seen wearing her Primp pony long sleeve shirt and leggings. Nicole has been spotted in the Primp Anchor thermals, and Paris has been seen in the Primp pony v-neck t-shirt and bunny long sleeve thermal. Rachel Bilson wears Primp attire, too. Young people all over the nation look for the things big celebrities wear, and this makes them much more popular. I bet in the next few years, you'll be seeing a lot more Primp on teens all over!

12/27/06: Obsessed Juicy Couture Fans

One day, I walked onto my school's campus to see 75% of all seventh and eighth grade girls wearing Juicy Couture velour or terry hoodies and Ugg boots. There were black hoodies, brown hoodies, pink, green, aqua, dark blue - it was like somehow Juicy had taken over their lives. And every single one of these girls had skinny jeans tucked into matching Ugg boots. Ugh. I confess - I own a Juicy hoodie, too (yet I bought mine with my own money on Ebay for $50). Not to mention a Juicy makeup case, t-shirt, and charm bracelet. But this was different - every clique had at least two girls with the same color Juicy. Then, it got worse - every single pair of Ugg boots were REAL. That is automatically wasting $220 or so. Crazy.... And when I wore a random velour zip up one day, they automatically asked if it was Juicy. I told them no. They were ready to say how cute it was, but they didn't because it wasn't worth $88.

Where has all the individuality gone? I applaud all the girls who decide not to waste $100 on plain sweaters that everyone else has! Don't use up your parent's money! Buy something unique and different from everyone else! That is what real fashion is! Not only have I been noticing Juicy sweats everywhere, but black Northface fleece jackets have become pretty popular, too. I'm not going to criticize those, because I own a lot of fleeces from Northface, and they keep me really warm during the winter. But still, I am the only girl in my school that owns two peacoats (one which I bought at Goodwill for $11). Converse and Vans took over the school last year - as well as Abercrombie and Hollister this year. Don't get me started on those stores again! Fashion is all about expressing yourself - you should take charge and start a new trend, don't follow the silly ones that swallow up your money! That's my life lesson for you today! :) Happy shopping!

Hahaha. I love that quote mucho! Have you seen Dakota Fanning's new Marc Jacobs ad? She looks more like Grandma Dakota than a 12 year old! Seriously - the frilly lace and bonnets make her look pretty bad, but the face she makes - more like Psychopathic Grandma Dakota! (sorry Dakota!) Oh well, Marc Jacobs has done better. I guess having a petite 12 year old for his ad campaign wasn't the most brilliant idea he's ever had. :)

Brrrrr. It's cold outside. Banana Republic is having a sale, and these drop dead beautiful winter white skinny cords are on sale for $44.99. They come in various whites and browns. I love how they paired them up with Uggs! Just like the above quote states, many people think Uggs are ugly and out of style. I personally think that $150 is too much to spend on the boots just because they are the original "Uggs." They aren't ugly - they're practical, and better for your feet than the other knockoff kinds like Bearpaw and Emu. Look at the ones above, with the flowers. They're by Ugg Australia, but $200. (cough up the money!)
They are sooooooooo cute. Maybe the plain old tan short Uggs aren't that appealing to fashionistas, but if you opt for a cuter pair that not many people have, you are being fashionable!

I was just on the Free People website, and there are even more cute things that would look positively snazzy with Uggs (and any other shoe). This skirt is on sale and absolutely positively a-m-a-z-i-n-g! It reminds me of a little swedish girl's skirt, just shorter! Brown legwarmers or knee socks would add to the excitement of this charming ensemble - as well as a white embroidered blouse, leather vest, and chunky light pink or brown cable knit sweater. Winter is my favorite time of year - not only because you get to cozy up with a cup of cocoa, but because fashion wise - it's all about layering!

Don't you just adore this Free People sweater? When I first saw this on the Urban Outfitters website, it was love at first sight! The cozy print reminds me of hot chocolate and reindeer, even though Christmas has come and gone (boo-hoo).
I hope you all had a very merry Christmas. Santa was very generous this year. My biggest present under the tree was a pair of Seven for All Mankind bootcut jeans. I absolutely love love love them! I know, they're a splurge ($143, gasp!) but it is totally worth it! If you are looking for a pair of flattering, soft, stretchy jeans to fit a curvy body, Sevens are for you! Actually, I'm wearing mine as I write! Other presents I received were a Juicy Couture makeup case, makeup, 12 pairs of socks, two Delia*s thermals, 3 books, (including the highly anticipated New Moon by Stephenie Meyer) and a big stuffed dog that looks remarkably like my Goldendoodle puppy. Oh, and this year was a good money year - basically every relative I have gave me money - a total of $250 cash, $50 Amazon.com gift card, and $25 Sephora gift card! Pretty snazzy, huh?
I hope some people took my Holiday Gift Guide into consideration. :) I haven't posted for like, 19 days or something, so I hope this post makes up for all the time missed - I'll probably post two or three times today. Well, have a belated Merry Christmas!

What a wonderful worrrrrrrld..... I'm humming the tune of that lovely holiday song I'm singing in my school choir. This reminds me that the holidays are coming and going, so I better make the most of them, and you should, too! 11/27/06: Aberzombies, Frappuchinos, and Marc Jacobs

Listen to the wise words of Marc Jacobs - fashion designer extraordinare. You could find the ugliest, most expensive thing in the world, but would you buy it just because "Chanel" or "Coach" is plastered all over it? Fashion should be a way to express yourself, not show off how much money you have!
You know what bugs me? Those girls who are clad head to toe in Abercrombie this, Hollister that. Where is their sense of individuality? I know that Abercrombie clothes might be comfortable, but they are pretty cheaply made, and very very plain. Not that often do I see girls at school wearing original clothes with unique patterns and cuts. Just a couple weeks ago, I was at the mall and visited both Abercrombie and Hollister, just to find everything was the same! From the sweatpants to the polos to the faux fur lined jackets. The only difference was the tiny stitched emblem in the corner of the polos and tees: moose or seagull.
Oh, wait! I have a name for these kind of girls: aberzombies. Not a very kind name, but very true. I could just imagine them walking like zombies in a mob towards the Abercrombie and Hollister stores. I'm warning you- there is an Aberzombie epidemic, and it's aiming towards us innocent teenagers!
I'm really craving a green tea Frappuchino right now. Starbucks is a revolution. I love the hip furniture and decor and the taste of their coffee! I think a good place for a fashion shoot would be Starbucks or an old diner. Also, cable cars in San Francisco would be pretty cool, too.
Better go do my homework (one of the non-enjoyable things about being a teen)

still not done with my homework, but whatevs - I'll finish it later. I thought I would share with you a bit about this series that every thirteen year old girl I know worships: The Clique Series by Lisi Harrison.
The Clique Series is an overrated books series for girls ages 12 and up - novels about four girls, Massie, Alicia, Dylan, and Kristen, aka "The Pretty Committee," who rule their private all girls school in Westchester County, New York. These girls have it all- money, good looks, - not to mention designer wardrobes. Every girl would die to be a part of their exclusive clique. In the first book, The Clique, Claire Lyons and her family of four move into Massie's guesthouse while they are trying to find a place of their own. Claire and Massie are both seventh graders, and this will be Claire's first year of attending Octavian Country Day School. Claire is used to her home in Orlando, Florida, where she shopped at Target, rode the school bus, and ate all the junk food she wanted. But soon, Claire learns that getting into the Pretty Committee is harder than she thought - these girls are cruel, snobby, and won't let anyone steal their spotlight. They are the clique - it isn't easy to get in, but it's even harder to stay in. The other books in the series include Best Friends for Never, Revenge of the Wannabees, Invasion of the Boy Snatchers, The Pretty Commitee Strikes Back, and Dial L for Loser, which published this July 2006. The highly anticipated It Isn't Easy Being Mean, will publish in February 2007. I was very dissapointed by the previous book, Dial L for Loser. It is totally unrealistic (well, I guess all the books are unrealistic) because Claire wins the lead part in a movie, and for once Massie isn't in the spotlight. What seventh graders would be able to fly off to Los Angeles and live the lap of luxury after being expelled (0ops!) from their prestigious private school? None. Overall, if you are looking for a cheasy, juicy, teeny bopper-licious read, try the Clique series. Most of the content of the books are descriptions of the girls' $5000 outfits, but I assure, the Clique series will keep you entertained until the very last page.
